Cades Cove, Great Smokey Mountains National Park

This limestone basin in the southwest corner of the park has been maintained as it existed in the early settlement days. Large portions of the cove exist as pasture land. The park service is in the process of naturalizing about 500 acres in an attempt to return the cove into it's more accurate historical condition.
