Someone's Baby Doll?

Did this "makeshift" doll with the button eyes and nose
belong to one of the patients?
Once a comfort to an aching lonely heart, now discarded
like a piece of trash.

I can say for fact that these stuffed animals were made by patients and given to kids as gifts. My grandpa gave me one for Christmas when he was a patient there. @1980.

oops, I didnt proof read my last post... but hey, you knew what I meant :)
Was also wondering if this building is in a remote place? How long had it been empty when you visited?

Thankyou for posting these images - really fascinating! The toy looks like a craft project a patient had worked on would have been occupied notice the other scrap materials in the drawer...

That is pretty freaky.
I am so intrigued by this whole thing. Mental hospitals are an excellent setting for a movie or story... or a background to one.
When you think of the people, you get this insane feeling of emptiness and gloom. I crave it.

This is really quite scary....

What a sad (but lovely) photo...for some reason, seeing discarded stuffed animals always really makes my heart ache. Especially in this context.

It always makes me kinda sad to see discarded toys or stuffed animals. I always had a hard time parting with mine.

it's hard to belive that the past can be forgotten that easily or just thrown out like trash! you can just imagine all the pain these people must have been through
