The beer hall where staff enjoyed their own entertainment. However, no noise and no swearing was allowed (it says so above the fireplace). The most senior staff member got to sit next to the fire - and the most junior member of staff would have to sit by the door. The beer was passed around the table on a rotating plate (you can see it on the far table on little wheels)and each had to take their turn when the beer jug arrived.
