Richard Paul Gillespie, 76, a life long resident of St. Joseph,
passed away quietly on Saturday, February 12, 2005; surrounded by his family at Lakeland Specialty Hospital- Berrien Center.
Dick was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving as a tank gunner in the 2nd infantry division / 72nd tank/A company.
After serving our country he founded Richard P. Gillespie Pharmacy Inc. in 1960 until his retirement in 1991.
His memory will forever be cherished by his 8 Children;
Debbie Gillespie, Cyndi (Larry Blevens) Gillespie, Rick (Claire) Gillespie,
Kelly (Keith) Karsten, Amy (Ken) Zimmerman and Nancy (Bill Smith) Gillespie of St. Joseph;
Teri (Gary) Little of Benton Harbor, Jackie (Scott) Nelson of Crystal Lake IL;
Ten grandchildren; Joe Whitacre, Bailey Carolla, Abigale and Matthew Gillespie,
Alec and Ellery Karsten, Taylor and Maddie Zimmerman, Sydney and Nigel Nelson;
one great grandson Logan Casper one brother Bill (Trudy) Gillespie of St. Joseph and many nieces ,nephews and friends.
A private Celebration of Life Service has been held at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home and cremation has taken place.
