Jajce, Bosnia

A man with the daily ration of bread for his unit waits out a shelling. The artillery was going right over the building we were in and impacting about 200 meters away.

In Vukovar I met a German gun collector who was traveling around the war buying up WW2 German weapons. He told me he ran into a Chetnik with a really valuable paratrooper's assault rifle and offered him 10,000 dm on the spot. Chedo smiled and said "See me after the war." I saw a number of MG42 machine guns and larger caliber artillery shells with Wermacht markings. When I was a student in Zagreb I had a friend from Gospic whose father kept an Italian tank in the barn. Just in case....

He has an old fashion German,"Wehrmacht" machine gun from WW II.This photograph is telling a lot..
Serbian army,Serbs in BiH,had all weapons which you can imagine.The best weapon which this guys from HVO had was constant will for defend of chetniks.Unfortunately Jajce felt,but was liberated again in the year 1995..
