Andrew Hogg with satelite telephone

Vitez, Bosnia

This sat-phone was the most common type used during this time in the Yugoslav war. They cost about $60,000 then and were expensive to use. Andrew Hogg of the London Sunday Times has written his story on his Radio Shack computer and is sending the file to London. He's in the backyard at the Vitez press center. At the time I figured the technology we were using was transitional, but I had no idea how rapidly things would change.

Imagine having something like this as your cell phone! Technology sure has come a long way. Things like this used to be the epitome of technology, but now you can have the world in the palm of your hand! It sure is an amazing thing.http://www.danmax.com/
