The army cook in Turanj was pretty good. They fed me quite a few times and that was one reason I liked to go down there. One time on a dark cold night they dragged me into a bunker and fed me a great stew, accompanied by fresh, still warm bread, and bottles of Karlovacko beer. Turned out to be venison stew. What a deer was doing in Turanj with all those guns going off is beyond me.
