Pressure ridge

A pressure ridge occurrs when a large sheet of ice fractures from stress or pressure and forms an irregularity in the surface. For dog teams it is not a big problem, as Ed Iten's team shows here, but a snow machiner going 120 across a frozen lake better know it's coming...
