Polly was a public health nurse in Kotzebue and she liked to take Hesta the Icelandic horse and Spike for walks....this particular day it was cold. Hesta is now in the valley someplace. These are among the first images I ever shot with a digital camera. I remember I was really worried about how the camera would do in the cold and I kept fumbling with my clumsy gloves. Digital is so much better than film in cold weather....a Leica is almost useless below -10 F. Digital cameras don't care how cold it gets.
