What can you say about New Mexico? I thought about waxing poetic about the unique mix of urban and rural. How the past lays on the land and the hope of the future draws itself like a curtain of thunderstorms across the Plains of San Augustin. The mix of heritage and ebb and flow of history and the intersections of old trails and new highways. That blurred line that is drawn somewhere that separates the busy city folk, who just want you to get out of their way as they rush on up the road to the next red light. To the rancher who gives you a neighborly wave as he passes by on some deserted back road as he goes to check on his livestock. The denial of the religious past, but how God is ever present from the petroglyphs of old to the crosses that dot the landscape. New Mexico is the worse and best in the west and the lines to be crossed are drawn by each to their own need. So I let New Mexico speak for itself!
