Parallel Projects

Was thinking about cleaning my shop.
Then looking around I knew where everything was and what projects each
particular mess was for and where the tools to do them are, so why would I undo it!

It reminded me of when I was younger and working with my father-in-law.
He would send me out to his truck to get some obscure small piece of hardware.
After wasting a lot of time and energy looking through every box
in his truck, dad would show up and ask why it was taking so long!
Then reach into what seemed to be a random box and pull out the cursed piece of hardware.
Then give you a look like you just fell off of a turnip cart and go back to work.
He did this to at least 3 generations of helpers and almost every young person,
boys and girls, in our family got roped into working for granddad at some point.
He did this to so many of us over the years it became legendary in our family!
Some could do it and some would make rude comments and never return.
In the end though he was loved and respected by all of us!
So with a smile and a nod to dad I let myself off the hook about my shop.
The mess will ebb and flow with the projects and
woe to any who dare try cleaning it for me.
Hats off to you dad!
I get it now!

Great story. As long as you know where it is, that is all that matters. I have over 3,000 books, and if my wife wants one, she just asks me instead of looking herself.
