Your Lawn Might Be Lying to You

Lawns as we know them came into existence on the estates of Victorian Europe.
The lush green weed free lawn is a hold over from the vanity and fashion of another era.
A steady diet of weed and feed sends the grass on a meth like high
added in with some herbicides like 2,4-D which was 50% of the mix for Agent Orange.
Then mowed with ever more sophisticated and expensive machines.
The reasons behind the cult of the monoculture lawn that is
drenched with poisons and fertilizers is the lie.
Your lawn should be a diverse abundant place.
It should be a mix of grasses, clovers, dandelions, daisies and other plants.
You should be able track your seasons by what’s blooming, the insects that are around
and the birds, wasps, spiders, and other predators that eat them.
Mow but leave the clippings and leaves for the worms.
They aerate the soil as they do their work and the birds love them.
Sometimes our lawn is covered with a mix of birds and
a host beneficial insects all feeding in their niche.
The lawn stays healthy as it goes through the seasons.
Just add water if you have it, but if you don’t,
don’t worry it will come back next spring!
Sometimes you have to create your own paradise and
the last thing you need is your lawn telling you lies.
If you need a truth here…
Plant some trees!
Use the money you save from not feeding the lawn.

Based on what you suggest, this lawn is bursting with health. I agree with most of what you promote. However morays and customs change.
