Death Drop

This is the “Please Fire! Are you still alive?” test shot after my camera hit the ground when I had a mishap!
It popped off the tripod, crashed to the pavement and it hit harrrrrrrrrd!
The camera seems to be fine, but the Olympus 50-200 mm Lens is toast!
Jammed, cracked, bent, broken! My main work horse and I am going to miss it.
I was surprisingly clam about it after I had the “Oh S**T” moment!
I rigged up other lenses and got the shot I was after, but still.....
It takes your breath away and all your flash bulbs pop at the same time!

(No grave side services, but a memorial fund has been established)
(Drop me a note if you want to help out! A “C” note would be nice!)

You have to quite doing that John, at our age those heart stopping moments could become permanent :-)

Damn the luck. Hope you had insurance. It cost me about 250.00 a year to insure all my stuff, it is worth just the peace of mind.

Well...hmmmm... if it's any consolation at all...the shot's kinda cool. :) Love the soft pastel shades.

Once again, so dang sorry for you John!! I'm with Lee tho..."check's in the mail"...let me know when you receive it. ;-]

What, the check was not attached to my condolence comment?
I suggest you contact pbase admins for immediate assistance. I'm sure they are already aware of the missing $ and have their crew of highly trained pbase techs searching through the billions of uploads for your lens and beer money.

Dear, John

I am so sorry to hear about the demise of your loyal Olympus 50-200. Nothing can prepare one for the pain that floods over you when faced with the sudden loss of a loyal, hard working friend. I have enclosed a check for $1,500 that can be used to buy a new friend, or to drown your sorrows at the Steak N' Stien.
May the Angel of peace comfort you until the new lens shows up.

Lee
