Any update on the project. I use to have an aunt that stayed there.
Thanks

I was rescuing some old documents from my loft today, and was amazed to find a number of architectural plans for proposed alterations to Bethania House, dating from 1963.

Most of the work related to the right hand section of the property, no longer visible in the images, while the section that can be seen to the left has been altered and extended well past the proposals shown in the 1963 drawings.

Just goes to show you never know what interesting relics you may have tucked away somewhere. I still have more to unroll (and dry out).

The Bethania care home, which has stood empty for several years, was purchased by Fyne Initiatives in March 2007 from Argyll and Bute Council. They are hoping to inject a new lease of life in to the area with the creation of another new housing development.

Valued in excess of £2 million, the project is due for completion in October 2008 creating a total of 13 homes for the shared equity market as well as one commercial unit to be used by the Bulwood Regeneration Project.

This was demolished, and flattened 10 days after this pic was taken.

It was a Council owned home/hostel for those with learning difficulties and more recently used as a Resource Centre. Guess the lucrative waterside site may now turn into... Luxury Flats. We'll see.
