25th March

Mansefield Place, High Street, Rothesay

Mansefield Place finally got the big knock today,
it took months to clear the building out
and yet it only takes a few hours to bring the whole building down.
I still say they should of just updated the building a wee bit instead of knocking it down.

I took 323 pics today, the better ones can be found in *** THIS GALLERY ***

oh and from 6am tomorrow morning this gallery shall be a no smoking gallery ;-)
(remember the clocks go forward tonight too!)

A very sad pair of photos - the first thing I thought when I saw your
main picture is what Laine just said - hope you didn't get dust on
your lens! Glad to see Scotland has banned smoking in bars etc.
We (in Australia) have had that in place for years now!

I'm with you there, Zak. My sister used to live in Mansfield Place. I thought that there was a desperate shortage of affordable 1-2 bed flats on Bute... now there's an even bigger shortage. Do you know what they are planning to put in place of these nice old stone-built tenements?

Looks like the place was too beautiful and too old to just tear down.

dramatic but sad shots, the end of an era.

Great catch of the falling chimbley pots.
