11th January

We seem to have alot of wrecks here dont we? heheh

I took this pic from the car,
I wasn't scared or anything to get out to take the pic(ok, a wee bit maybe...)
but it was raining!! and bits of hale were pinging against the Pug too!!
and the people next door were twitching their curtains, spying on me...

I've also been up at Mansefield again:

I can't believe this. A great detached house allowed to rot.

I used to holiday in the cottage attached to the back of Janefield as a child more than 40 years ago. It was a lovely house then. I played with Anne Brown and her collie Glen who lived upstairs. Happy memories. Wonder where she is now?

A perfect spot for more luxury villas. ;-)

Gee I thought you had bought a new home! ;-)

My Dad nearly bought this house about 30 years ago... back when it was still inhabitable. Considering the shortage of affordable housing on the island, you would think that some organisation (council?) could buy up these wrecks, do them up, and then offer them to young locals - either as part purchase or rent... Much better than seeing them like this.

Theres real slate tiles on that old roof! It must have
looked quite grand in its day...

It's a beautiful little house that was once someone's castle. I hate to see things wasted like this and those other buildings.

Have you put in an offer? I bet it would be fantastic but what a 'project' it would be.

Rent is cheap I suppose. Seems this could be a beautiful place, it´s a pity.
