17th June

Not exactly a nice day to bring your classic cars over,
especially if 2 of them dont have roofs!!

Jenny Faa, they came to Bute to have their photos taken by Zak.

I don't know how driving on the island compares now, but a few years ago - before Zak had a camera! - I used to think it worth the ferry cost just to go over for a day, even though my cars weren't quite as old as the examples above, more of the Classic era. No offence to them, but the only downside was finding we had arrived on the same day as one of the cycling events held there, and many of the interior roads are not suitable for a safe pass at the speeds those cyclist can reach!

The blue car is a Bugatti and with that sort of money under you who cares about the rain.

I'm sorry, but I can only see 1 car without a roof!! :P

I'd imagine its the fact that the Island is such a great drive for these old cars, and such beautiful scenary and quiet roads where you can just enjoy a nice slow saunter along to your hearts content without a 40 ton artic up your rear end trying to push you along, or white vanman cutting you up.
I once saw them crossing over to Skye years ago for probably much the same reason.

I still want to know what brings all these old cars/old motorbikes over to Bute. Nice to have them, but I don't think it's the weather, somehow.

Very nice Zak.

It really helps if you are Scots to own one of these open-topped cars.
Well used to adverse weather conditions.
If thats at Rhubodach ferry terminal, the driver of the blue car has a looooooooooong drive home in that weather.

Luckily skin is waterproof.
Brilliant shot to sum up the British summer Roulette
