Ann McNicol Katz, As a former "Brandane" now living in Northern California I loved seeing the lovely picture of of my friend Evelyn Gray's Tin House, many happy memories. My father was Duncan McNicol who owned the bakery on Montague Street ,our home was Oaklands. Zac,your pictures are beautiful, I love my daily pictures, keeps me in touch with my former home.

Hi, I'm a Brandane and own the cottage. My visitors all tell me the view is amazing. It is called Heide Vreugd which means Heathery Joy in Dutch. I am told that the said Mrs White of Spirella fame gave it that name. Lots of locals call it the Tin House and even the postie knows it as that. My father owned it before me and was well known as "Inspector Gray" from when he served locally in the police in the early 50ties

In the 50s the house belonged to Mrs White who was the rep. for Spirella Corsets. Working in her house at New Year time with the late Adam Smith of Grahams Electricians, she offered us a New Year dram. Alas, it was carrot juice !!

I remember cutting the grass at this house way back in the 50s. It must have one of the best views in Scotland.
