If memory serves me right, the white building was the servants' quarters as late as the 1980s. I was friends with the butler's son around 1980, and this was one of our hang-outs at the time.

I think the white building is all that's left of the earlier Mount Stuart which was simple and classical and beautiful. Which is more than you can say for the neo-Gothic pile we have now. In my opinion.
