the first shop was a dairy, i remember getting milk in there in the early 60's, second one gifts but was always closed.
and from my brother "Milk and morning rolls, mars bars and milky ways, and a Lyons fruit tart for sixpence - 1955 !"

Oh my, I can't remember what was next door to the IOB Jewellery shop, maybe it was uninhabited.

I would rather have the gable-end than what was there before. Unless it had been restored to its former glory.
