I can remember the pier as a simple affair. no silly, expensive, prone to breakdown ramps to board the boats, just a simple gangway. No fences and gates etc.
It used to look pretty quaint, not the permanent building site which is now is, and seems like its going to be for the foreseeable future.

Hope the terrorists don't see this "massive" fence. Snow white's seven pals could get over this one without a ladder. Even someone "dopey" enough not to get over it can walk round it.
