I visited Ascog House several times 45 years ago. As a boy of 12 visitng my Grandparents in Rothersay for the first of several visits I was befriended by many. At that time part of the house was let by Tony Ventre (sic) and his wife Nancy owner/operators of Tony's Place fish and chip shop. Both op their sons being in the Merhcant Navy were away. Had many nice lunches with Tony and Nancy.
