Winter Iris, different lighting
A comparison with the photo I downloaded a couple of days ago that had the light behind
the bloom. This one has the light in front, which do you prefer?
We are packing up and will head to the tropics in a couple of days time, I've more or less
finished pruning, but there are other jobs that need attention, hopefully Dick and a
grandson will put in some hours tomorrow. I should manage to add another photo on
Pbase tomorrow, then we'll be away for a fortnight + 2 or 3 days.

Red Camellia
I love seeing this camellia in flower, we can see it from our bedroom and on wintry
overcast rainy days it lifts the spirits. This is one of the first blooms for 2016
and its only partly opened up yet.
I am near the end of rose pruning, feeling a bit weary, but I sleep very well after
the long hours in the garden. :) There is one little Scots rose that is in flower
right now, I think it has got confused with our strange weather! I'm not
bothering to take the photo... its such a tiny thing and looks better in the garden
than it does on the computer screen.

Winter Iris
Lucky to find a perfect bloom, the snails LOVE these, often there's only a few
tattered petals left when I go for my morning walk around the garden. This
one is now in a vase inside so we can enjoy it for longer than a day.

Jonquils
A welcome splash of colour in mid-winter. We can see them through our window, but I
braved the elements and took this photo in situ.
