Coloured leaves
A feature of tropical gardens are the use of coloured leaves rather than
flowers. The garden where we stayed featured a variety of plants that
were leaves of various colour. Queenslanders may know the identity.

Hibiscus
These hisbiscus bushes dotted the walking path across the road from where we were staying.
There was also a hedge of a red hibiscus identical to this bloom, but the leaves
were variegated in the hedge. We can't grow the tropical hibiscus where we live down south, our
winters are too cool and there isn't enough rainfall to their liking.
