Blood red!

In my rose garden

Lots of experimenting going on with all 3 shots
today, lots of "de"ing to get the colours right
and minimise glare - a perennial problem under
our sunny skies - although the red was in the shade
the others weren't.

Those red "x's" again!
Here's a rugosa in sepia

and a lovely soft image of Oktavius Weld - a foundling rose

Gorgeous colour! I'm going to have to wait a few months to colour like this. ;-0

so who was evelyn figon then? very striking colour.
what do you have to do to get a rose named after you? do you have to be
famous? or do you just have to know the right people...? ;-)
I think a "Pooch" rose would be cool - unless one exists already!

Very much a blood red. Looks like it may turn darker as it ages.
