Splendid China was a theme park near Disney World.
It consisted of 1/8 scale diaoramas of various places in China and it also had some stage shows.
It was very controversial because it was financed by the Chinese government and was viewed by many as being a propaganda tool of that government (I didnt know this at the time I visited it).
It has since gone out of business.
My goddaughter (adopted from China), her family, and I spent a wonderful day at Splendid China. The meticulously crafted models of temples, palaces, and landscapes were a delight, as was the Chinese circus performance we attended. The propaganda aspect was not apparent. No political motive could be discerned. I am sorry that the park closed down; but I am not surprised, as it was not well publicized. There were probably a dozen people there the day we visited.
