The gajillion exposed pipes mounted all around the room do nothing and are only for show. The ones in the chambers, from what I have heard, did play at one time but have not for many years; from which console, I am unsure. It would have likely been either from parts of this one or parts of the 15-manual console right next to it. As an organist myself, I can tell you that this console pictured here started out as a genuine four manual console, and then was expanded both outward and upward for display here.

The music you hear in the room is played over loudspeakers from a CD entitled "Pipe Organ Spectacular" (CBS Special Products, A 19992, issued in 1987; I believe there is a more recent issue as well). None of the tracks on the CD were played at House on the Rock.

Do somebody know where we can buy the cd (s) of organ played in the organ room at the House on the rock. It is apparently named `pipe organ spectacular` but I don`t know the company or the player`s name. Thanks.

You won't find a CD featuring this or any other organ found in the House on the Rock. Every one of these consoles is fake. They were constructed for show and don't have any pipes attached to them. Most of the pipes around the room are fake or real, but not attached to a windchest. There are three massive consoles that were built for no other reason to look really big and not produce a sound. The largest organ that can actually be played (to some degree) has 7 manuals and is in Atlantic City.

Sheeeeese, I don't have the knowledge of music, but what I would like to know is how does anyone manage to play an organ with 8 manuals? If anyone pass's though here and can answer the question, please feel free to email me at jadefalcon01@gmail.com. Also where can I find CD's or tapes featuring music played on this type of organ?

It has theatre organ stops, classical organ stops, now all it needs is some Hammond Drawbars to make it every organ!!!
