A few photos I took of my trip to North India. Photos of places include, the supposed battlefield of Kurukshetra, which is the great final battle from the Indian epic, the Mahabharat story. It is supposed to have been at this place where Lord Krishna, who is the divine incarnate in the legend, gives the teaching of the holy Bhagavad Gita, one of the important scriptures of the Hindus, to Arjuna, his friend, relative and disciple. Don't ask where the exact spot is! I also visited the ruin of the ancient city of Pataliputra, which was the capital of the many empires centered around the ancient kingdom of Magadha, beginning from the Mauryan dynasty. I visited the Nalanda university, where it is said that Chanakya, the Prime Minister of the first Mauryan emperor, Chandra Gupta Maurya, studied. Chanakya is said to have written his seminal work, the Chanakya Niti, which set the template for governance in the future empire, here.
