I arranged a photo session at Mai Po yesterday for two high school classmates BK and KKM, in mind to shoot some migratory birds. Though we were too earlier for that and ended up shooting instead more scenic and floral. BK was using Canon 5D Mark II (full frame) with 100-400 zoom and KKM 400 fixed focus with Canon 7D. And I was using Nikon D3 (full frame) with the 200-400/f4 zoom. While BK and I found the range insufficient, KKM was in a much better position with a 1.6 crop factor (effective 640mm). After Mai Po we went down to the Wetland Park in Tin Shu Wai for some more photos (I changed the lens to the new Nikkor 24-120/f4 for the last two photos, flower and butterfly).
