I live in Manhattan, in New York City, in the U.S. I took up photography in May of 2004. Currently all photoes are taken with a Canon Powershot S500. I rarely edit my images, but if and when I do, it will be noted below the image.
I also have a used Pentax K1000(?)/35mm that I bought a few months ago, but I have yet to use it. Some of my galleries aren't so much about "photography", but are more about a certain concept (giving you a feel for Manhattan for e.g.), or for telling a silly story ("Various Roles of a Secretary", for e.g.)
I don't have a good understandig of lighting, shutter speed, etc., but I'm starting to understand a bit more each day. I hope to take some classes so that I can better understand the basic principles of photography.
You will never see me using pseudo-intellectual art-speak (one of my pet peeves) to explain what makes any of my photoes "great". To me, if a photo is great, it will speak for itself and shouldn't need fancy verbage or complex insight to try and add "weight" to what often times, may just be a very simple photo that doesn't deserve any explanation.
