I hope you guys check the guestbook once in a while! My name is Rachel Liu and I know some of you know my dad Wing Liu. I was born in New Brunswick Fredericton in 1978 and when my parents were busy, Uncle YC and Auntie B took care of me when I was little. A few years back my dad told me that Uncle YC was ill and had asked me to email Uncle YC to see how he was doing. He was happy to hear from me and emailed me this link to look at pics of Auntie Nita and Caroline and Michael (you guys came and stayed at my house when you visited Disneyland many years ago in California). I had forgotten about this website until I was cleaning my email today and saw the email that Uncle YC had emailed me. I just wanted to say I'm really glad that you've kept this website open and recent. Although you guys don't know me very well, I still have very fond memories of my childhood when your parents took care of me. I still remember clipping Uncle YC's nose with a clothes pin because I thought it was funny. Then added one to each ear as earrings! Take care... Rachel Liu ranmawoman@yahoo.com

I'm a year 2000 graduate of UNB. I was fortunate to have had YC as a professor in 2 GGE courses during my time at UNB. He was my favorite professor in all of my 7 years of acamdemia. I always felt welcome and respected when I'd stop by YC's office. We'd discuss a concept I was having difficulties with and I'd leave with a smile knowing that I'd come away a little smarter. YC could explain topics in such a manner that really got me excited about learning. YC you will never fade from my memory, you will always be number 1 in my books.

I miss you.

I want to thank YC's family (Nita, Caroline, and Michael) for continuing to post pictures on this web site. YC has been very inspirational for me. I have watched him overcome so many obstacles in life and achieved the success that he had with hard work, patience, preseverence, and most importantly always with a sense of focused stubborness. Not just a friend, he was also a role model for me. He never gave up. I have made it a habit to call him up at major turning points of my life - such as when we left Fredericton for Kingston, when we left Canada for the US.
Now I have come to another major turning point - we are moving to Cambridge, ON in a week and I will be sending you our address and phone number via a separate email so that you can look us up when you are in the area. We will be about 20 minutes from Guelph, Caroline, so please don't hesitate to take advantage of us when you return to UoG.

I will continue to visit this web site, so please continue to put those pictures up there. See you soon!

Dear YC and Family:

This is the fifth time I'd visited this photo gallery since coming back from Fredericton, New Brunswick approximately two months ago (since July, 2004). Every time I visit this site, all the fond memories of your teaching; your laughs; your conducting of your researches in your industrious/serious manner (those numerious late nights) vividly re-appear on my mind.

Your generosity and hospitality for the many pot-luck invitations at your residence, are gratefully remembered and appreciated.

I'd still remember when we arrivied Fredericton on August 31 of 1986, we arrived Fredericton at about 11:00pm (seemingly a pitch dark night), after a 15-hour drive from Toronto. You'd stood at your driveway in front of your then residence at 744 Kings College Road and waited for our save arrival. For a couple students (Mei and myself) whom you had never ever met before, you'd painstakingly waited for our arrival, and put us up for several weeks prior to our finding of our own apartment. YC, you have touched us, at the bottom of our hearts. Hey, did I mention that you had to teach a third year university (GIS) class on the following morning?

YC, you are a true friend indeed. You will be dearly dearly missed !

We wish your family all the very best.

Love
Fred

I am so sad to hear that you have left us. I will always remember your kindness, and your excellent teaching, and how you take care of your students (us). You are always the best in our mind. Bless your family. May God will take care of each of your family members and carry them to go through the future.

The pictures are beautiful but I am deeply sad to see that such an excellent and dedicated teacher and researcher has left this world very soon. May God bless your family and give them patience to bear this irreparable loss. And may God rest his soul in heaven.

Dear Y.C.,

Thank you very much for sharing your photos with us. I do not think that we could achieve similar task even if we had the health and time. They brought back fond memories and is a good way to remember good friends without having to see them from discoloured photos. I could still remember visiting you and Brenda while I was still pregnant. Can't believe that Caroline and Michael are now mature youngsters who can think for themselves. They seemed to have grown up under the wand of a magician. You should be very proud of them and yourself too. How could we miss out Nita! She is such a blessing to your whole family. We hope that you will get better soon. With modern technology, everything is possible. Don't forget about the power of prayers too. We wish you all all the very best.

Patrick, Angel, Matthew and Sephora.

PS: I do not understand what login and password mean in your website. Since I am so illiterate in this aspect, I just left it blank.

It is a wonderful family albums! We are happy to meet Nita in Ottawa, she is so nice! Lucky you, Y. C.
Seeing Caroline becomes a beautiful teen is our pleasure, please come to visit us if she is in Ottawa next time. Believe it or not? Michael has the same birth day as my daughter, so we better remember his (7/18) also.
Take care,

Anna and Charles Wong

There cannot be a happier time than to see a good friend fully recovered from serious sickness, and better still, to see you putting together those pictures of your family and us together was just exhiliarating. We all have a lot to learn from you.
Additionally, you loving wife Nita has been so helpful, so encouraging, during those trying times when you needed her most - she was there for you. You should be proud of her. We are proud of you two.
Since our trip to Fredericton, we have met with Caroline in July in Waterloo and she had informed us of your tremendous progress. Since, we talked to Mrs Chui late August and she confirmed the same. Without you knowing, we have been keeping taps on you and everything we have heard was just wonderful.

We will track you down wherever you are. If time and schedule permit, we have all the derise to attempt another trip to Fredericton soon.
