I took these pictures on the Saturday night program of An Evening with Champions, sitting in the photographers' box. The lighting was difficult at times but the 1D Mark II kept up with the action very nicely. A 1.8 or 1.2 aperture lens would have been welcome here.

GREAT pictures! I would be happy to tell you the names of all of the skaters. The young man in the white vest is Ryan Bradley, the young man in the blue sweater is Kelly Smith, the dance team (her pink dress him white shirt) is Tiffany Steigler and Sergei Magerovsky, the young lady in the pink dress is Alissa Csizny, the young man in the grey shirt is Jordan Wilson, the pair team next (she is in the black and white dress) is Chris and Molly Schleicher, the pair in purple is Julia Vlassov and Drew Meekins, the pair in blue are Tatiana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin, the fine looking gentleman in the suit is Steven Cousins, the next lady is Jennifer Robinson, the young man in the blue shirt is Ryan Jahnke, the young lady in yellow is Kimmie Meissner, followed by The Haydenettes and then young Daria (Gordeeva) Grinkova, the ice theater group is called Act I of Boston. Hope that helps!
Thanks for your comments! I am more a photographer than a figure skating fan, but even so I felt especially lucky to have seen the Protopopovs on the ice, as well as so many of the other talented, amazing skaters that night! If you, or anyone else, could help me out by putting names to some of the unlabeled skaters (I don't following figure skating too closely) that would be great!

Wished the names of the skaters in each photo are noted, especially in the pairs, and some singles that are not very well known yet. But thanks so much for sharing your photos. I really regret not being able to see these live there's really nothing like seeing a show live hearing the music and the interpretation of each artists. You are so lucky, I shouldn't have pass on to watching the likes of Protopov's,(just shows their passion for the sport & especially Katia, Ilia and Dasha who are all probably lovely to watch live and the others who could have every potential to become future champions in the world of figure skating, and for them to do it to help raise funds for charity just amazes me. I guess its not too late the season is just beginning. Thank You again for sharing!!!
