Marina was 38 yrs, and was recoverying from her GIST surgery, and adjusting to her grim prognosis. She had advanced metastastic GIST in the era before targeted cancer therapy. Doctors had estimated she has less than a year to live. She is doing fine on Gleevec in 2006"
