Grand Bazaar, is a covered market near the Beyazit mosque in Istanbul. There are over 3000 shops and 25000 people work here. Established by Mehmed the Conqueror, to provide income for Hagia Sofia. It houses the world's largest jewellery market, and is the center of Turkey's gold market. Over a quarter of a million people visit everyday, and one can find anything from tiny trinkets to expensive jewellery and everything in between. Turkey is the 2nd largest textile market and many shops sell clothes and leather goods.
