the fact is palestinians and arabs and muslims have a problem with everyone else, they cant live with anyone in peace and demand everything to be theirs and theirs only, so make tell the pali's to go back home to Jordan and Syria and leave the Jewish holy places in Judea and Samaria, it has never been and never will be arab land.

The fact that most of the people leaving comments on this have never lived in Palestinian territory just goes to show why you don't understand the Palestinians' demanding the right to freedom and justice. Since you only receive biased news in America, you could never understand the terror that Palestinians go through as well. Palestinians wouldn't protest the Apartheid wall if it wasn't build within Palestinian land and seperating families, destroying land and homes. If Israel is so intent on being secure by a wall, let them built it on their land, not land they occupy as another means of collective punishment against the Palestinians. The suicide bombings are wrong, but so are the killings of Palestinians. We can just as easily show the blood and death of Palestinians. So lets be realistic here, the wall, in the long run, won't work, especially if it directly affects Palestinians lives and land. Build the apartheid wall in Israel. Let the Palestinians have their own state.

It is amazing that several visitors to this site actually believe that this fence is a bad idea-and go on to say that the US has no responsibility to protect its own people and property, and build a fence on its borders. There are plenty of threats, and the fact that the Mexicans are coming in here and we do not no about them just goes to prove that anyone of them could have a nuclear weapon on their back, and they come in virtually unnoticed. It is amazing.

Did israeli and palestinian people ever lived in peace in the past or now? Never. Is there any reasonable prespective they ever will? Neather. So, if they can not bare each other together, let them live appart. Perhaps then the world stop earing about innocent isrealis killed in suicide attacks and innocent palestinians hit when they try to came out of their homes during curfues.

The previous comment (which was made by an anonymous Palestinian) showed how twisted is thinking is:

He invent an accusations of hundreds being slaughtered – which is not true and then claim that border fences are “concentration camps” all this justify the real killing of innocents that goes on every time a suicide bomber explodes in a school bus or a crowded pizza place in Israel.

There is a gallery on this site of a supermarket just after a suicide bomber hit the place – take a good look at it to understand what Israelis are going through.

Of course a peaceful, negotiated solution that will end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian people must be found but it was the Palestinian who refused to negotiate raising demands to flood Israel with millions of Palestinians. When Israel refused they started a war on Israel’s civilians.

It is clear from this gallery that Israel choose the wrong path for it’s security fence. Israel could reduce the hardship on the average Palestinian. But from there to justify the suicide bombing there is a long completely unjustified way.

its amazing, throughout this whole comments everyone talks about the suicide bomber. this shows that the world is truly brainwashed. what you dont see is the hundreds of INNOCENT palestinians being slotered every day. i do not agree with suicide bombers completly. If isralies can have guns to shoot us to death, what are the palestinians supposed to do? kneel down and ask for more? put yourself in THEIR shoes.

I understand something needs to be done about the bombings but keeping Palestinians from schools and jobs only makes the situation worse.

To our big surprise we discovered that there exist
some fences and barriers in the world, outside of Israel.
Some of them even can be found at major UN
members.
First, we start with the fence between Mexico and the
USA. There is really no need for this fence since the millions of illegal
Mexicans in the United States do not commit suicide bomb attacks in American
restaurants.

Then we continue with the fence between North and
South Korea.
A totally useless fence since the regimes of both
countries share the same democratic values.
A fence in Europe! Could it be? But those people
live in peace! The fence between Cyprus and the Turkish occupied territory
should be removed at once, not only opened during daytime.

Another fence in Europe!
In Northern Ireland this time, where thanks to wise
British policy, Catholics and Protestants live in peace together for
centuries.
Let's get rid of this fence!
This is a good fence, as friendly Dutch people know
how to build. It is only meant to keep illegal immigrants from leaving the
harbor area of Hoek van Holland.
But the purpose is like any other fence: keep
the wrong people out of your country.
Now, this is really bad, A fence between 2 major
United Nations members,
India and Pakistan. Look what is says at the website

Spain erected a barbed wired fence, guarded by soldiers, in

(without bombs) out of Spain.

Only after we get rid of all these fences, one could
ask Israel not to build a fence that protects her
citizens from Palestinian terrorists.

Just to let you know that there is now a fence between
Botswana and Zimbabwe - to stop the Zimbabweans from entering, due
to our dire economic conditions.

Zwika, You have a valid point. The order is chronological mostly - based on the day photo was taken.
Most people know that there were many suicide bombings for over two years before the fence was built.
This gallery shows the reality of the last 6 months: The fence and it's affect on the palestinian population while suicide bombings continue inside Israel.

Eyal - theis is good journalistic Work. It is sad that all the millions of dollars being wasted on this project could have been spent on the welfare of everybody living here. As Abba Eban once said "The Arabs never lose an oportunity to lose an oportunity"
I have no sympathy whatsoever for the palestinians - they have brought this mess solely and squarely upon themselves. Their perpetual hatred of the Jews and Israel, the constant incitement blaring forth from their mosques and their TV to kill more Jews, their indoctrination of little kids in Jew-hating (just get hold of any palestinian textbook) speaks volumes about their real desire for "Peace".

As an American, I'm very distanced from the horrors taking place in the Middle Eastern region. Although I do not agree with everything Israel does, I do support it in its fight to be free and safe from the evil acts of the Palestinian militant groups. I support the erection of a wall to protect Israelis from these militant groups and individuals bent on destroying people in the name of a false god. This wall will also protect the Palestinians...less violence against Israel= less violence against Palestine. The ferocity and ill-will evident in the words and actions of the Palestinian terrorists justifies the erection of a security wall.

Great photos! The Israeli Security Fence is a brilliant idea. The extra land acquired will serve as compensation for the cost of building the wall and restitution for the lives of those innocent Israelis lost to Palestinian suicide bombers. The Palestinians will finally be getting what they deserve.

Thank you for posting photos of the religious cleaning up the blood and body parts from the Rosh Haayin supermarket where my little sister shops every week... sure, the Palistinians deserve their own country, but they're getting a wall, first.

I cant believe this!! As if Israeli occupation of Palestinian land wasnt enough?! Now a wall to keep the Palestinians ought of their own land? This is worse than Apartheid!! The Palestinians are being treated like caged animals! How long before the little scrap of land that Palestinians live on now becomes a super concentration camp run by the Israelis?? The whole world should condemn this crime. I hope I live to see the day the Palestinians gain their freedom, their land, their dignity. There is no Israel - there is only occupied Palestine!! Thanks for giving us a (very small) glimpse into the Israeli/Palistinian problem. It would be nice if the truth to this problem were self-evident and one were able to make a quick judgement either way for either side but it simply is not.

Why are people killing each other? Religion? Ecomonmics? Security? Just becuase?

I think the wall will lead to peace--yes, an enforced peace, a cold peace, but that's better than terrororism. Once the wall is in place and terror attacks stop, perhaps in a generation there will arise a Palestinian mentality of recognizing the Israel that exists outside the West Bank. Then there will be a chance for true peace.

Why the settlements? Why the occupation of land (in addition to that granted by the UN)? There has to be two nations with defined borders. A single, non-religious, state would be a better idea. This wall won't solve anything.

Arafat AND Sharon have a lot to answer for...(Where is the 'peace and security' that Sharon promised?)
They should both go, how on earth have two men with such murky pasts managed to become leaders.

Both sides must change what they do.

Visually sad....UNQUESTIONABLY NECESSARY!!! Until the terrorist savages amongst the Palestinians are brought to justice this is the way it must be. Daily attacks with little or no attempts by Arafat to do anything are a joke. The only thing he does is sponsor them and anyone who can't see that is a lost cause.

Very disturbing photos. Glad you included the results of an Arab terror attack to show the justification of building the barrier. No country on earth could tolerate the frenzied attacks from wild-eyed, doped-up suicide murderers with visions of pliant virgins dancing in their heads. However, critics of the security wall think Israel and the Jews should tolerate it. It boggles the mind. If those Arab farmers don't like having a fence running through their property, then they should complain to their 'leadership' which has done nothing to stop the attacks.
