All the families are members of the Israeli-Palestinians forum of bereaved families. Click HERE to go to the PARENTS WEB SITE

A meeting between Palestinians and Israelis who lost loved ones during the conflict but joined together in a call for peace.

Reconciliation photos - PEACE MUST START SOMEWHERE

Everyone you see in this photos had a family member killed in the conflict.

The meeting was held in a checkpoint on the Separation Fence - a mile inside the west bank. The occasion was the Muslim holiday of Id-el-Fiter - the Israelis have brought food for the Palestinians.

I appreciate immensley the work that was done with this gallery. I am a citizen of the world, although i am ashamed to have an american passport in light of recent events and dealings in the middle east. pictures like this show that there can be peace, and that these wars can end! Thank you for this gallery, may more and more people see this gallery and understand the possibilities for peace.

Amazing photos, surely a message to us all that no matter how much bad there is in the world , humans still have a fantastic gift to give in forgiveness.
To anyone else who wants to base all their opinions on what is reported in the news, I suggest they look at these photos and see that the world isn't full of stereotypes.
I learnt this when I was in Iraq this year with the British Army.
Until you see the whole picture, theres no way you can appreciate its value.

Looking at the previous comments on this gallery...I guess that is what photojournalism should be all about - creating awareness, dialogue and interaction of parties with different views on a difficult subject.
Clearly it works in this case........

I wonder what will come sooner: The day there is a Palestinian "Peace Now" group or the day that you and people from the settler community will support peace in 67 borders ?

Eyal - The Arabs pictured here represent but a tiny minute fraction of palestinians,who are maybe tired of killing us. This is no grassroots group, more than 60% of the palestinians (by their own count) are quite happy to see suicide murderers carry on blasting away any Jew wherever they can be found. When arab children are no longer taught that killing Jews is good and when Mosques no longer brodcast virulent antsemitism and hatred and when there will be a grassroots arab "Peace Now" movement, then maybe maybe there will be a tiny ray of hope that they finally realise that after 100 years of Zionism the Jews are here to stay and killing us is not the way to go. As for the foreign protesters I say to you - get out of our country - this is not your fight, you are totaly ignorant of the politics of our country - as long as you are being funded by European antisemites you are as good as them. - go protest human rights abuses in Africa, the Arab countries, the Third world and a million other places. As for our own sweet anti zionist Jews, with friends like these, who needs enemies??

These are brave people and this is the only way to go, what a pain that so many prefer to kill instead of trying to understand each other. Thanks for sharing this and I wish these people all the very best for the future and hope that they can start to be happy again in the future.
