Villages is a word given to the natural assembly of houses,farms,small businesses,schools and religous buildings on wich people lived for centurys.when it get bigger it's call town, larger… citys.
Settlements is a word given to a bunch of prefabricated houses where people have decided originally to come and settle by giving the right to themselves to do so( not necessary owner of the land wich is the case here in Palestine)
If you are a settler and don’t know the difference I would like to congratulate Israel for their new comers.

In the literal sense you are correct, the sign does not use the word settlements but the more palatable word for the right wing: A Town or a Village – but let’s not play word-games, the sign in the photo (placed there by “Moetzet Yesha” ) is about the settlements . I stand by my translation.

What people like you do not understand is that insisting on keeping the settlements jeopardize the existence of other Israel Towns and villages. (you know that there are also Israeli towns and Israeli villages - don't you ?)

Is removing the settlements “a victory for peace” (as the graffiti claims) – we do not know yet, but is removing the Gaza settlements a victory for more sane Israel – surly many Israelis think that we have nothing to do in Gaza.

You can complain about such view as much as you want, may I suggest that you do it to the people in the Likud who are leading this – go talk to your friends Sharon and Moufaz – ask them why do they want to leave Gaza.

The sign on image 67300025.jpg says: "Uprooting towns - a victory for terror".
While Jewish towns and villages can be "transferred" in a racist plot to rid the
west bank and gaza of jews, no one would dream of ridding Israel of its Arab population
and transferring arabs from the galilee to gaza, right? so enough of the hypocracy, eyal!

Howcome arab villages are always "villages" while jewish villages are always "settlements?". Since we know that these are political terms,
perhaps arab settlements in the west bank should be uprooted to make
a safer enviroment to live in for the jewish villages. and perhaps the
arab settlements should build fences to protect themselves instead of
Israel having to protect itself from arab terror.
