Ariel, west-bank Sep 25, 2003: Badawii Iman and Aaida Afargi, Palestinian Arab women from the Village of Kfar Kasem receive their dgree in psychology during degree graduation ceremony in the Judea and Samaria Academy in the settlement of Ariel. The Academy is operated as part of the Bar-Ilan University in Israel.
Members of the UK Association of University Teachers (AUT) decided to suspend all links with Haifa and Bar-Ilan universities over their alleged involvement in "illegal activity" in the occupied territories. Delegates at the AUT's council claimed that the univesities "were complicit in a system of "apartheid" towards Palestinians. In specific Bar Ilan university was accused of helping with degree programmes at a college in a settlement in the West Bank.

The votes, and lack of debate, have been condemned as antisemitism by Jewish human rights groups. The Israeli ambassador to UK was quoted as saying: "The last time jews were bocotted in universities have been in Nazi Germany during the 1930s"
