Greetings from the US all. I'm 3/4 Cherokee, and proud of my heritage. The other 1/4 is pure British, and traced all the way to the Mayflower - geez, am even related to the current Prez thru his Mother. Not at all what I'm here to say, but needed to give you all a sense of my own issues with living here in this great big world that gets smaller and smaller each day, my personal situation as the most striking example of genocide ever - the Native American. Yep, we we so very stupid as to trust those guys bearing gifts. Now, I wonder, what the heck kind of gift is The Wall. I can see no use in it - it's an ecological disaster, taking livlihoods away, and forever quashing the ability for the PEOPLE to make peace within their own interactions, thereby leaving it to the politicians - and believe me, as a cousin to the Prez, there is no one more horrified at that particular prospect. Yes, that big old F-18 pictured above will surely come into play at one time or another - but hopefully and simply to blow the darn wall up. Hey, whoever is in power there over the Wall - get real! The great wall of China didn't exactly work, how do you think this one will either? I guess for me, still sad at the travesty wreaked here in the States centuries past - not only for Indians, but for Africans as Slaves (wait a minute - we were enslaved too!) I must tell you all I weep. Perhaps this won't make a heckuva difference to anyone who reads this forum, but I do. I weep for all that must look at the Wall, who must overcome it on their daily trek to work - I weep especially ofr the children, forever caged in their minds. The Berlin Wall was taken down, this one shall be too, one day. And hopefully not including a Trail of Tears - oh wait - there are many of those already. Peace to You All. Find Joy in the small things. Continue to think about those on the other side of the wall who think and live just as you do. And if it helps you, take solace in the knowledge that there are many, not of your nationality even, who weep for you, pray in our religion to our God, and know you will prevail. For all of you that watching those pictures, you compare this wall to the Berlin wall to the aparthheid? do you really see any connection? I really cannot compare the black community and the whites in africa to this, i cant think about communists here. I have been to africa, by the way people are still dying there every day! poor and hangry. people are still controling others there, are you doing something to stop it? I don't know that this site is biased - it appears to be fairly balanced. It is up to the viewer to decide what side they are on. And it is obvious that many of you have made that known. For me and my house we are on the side of God. Israel is falling under God's judgment because of her rebellion and pride. The purging may be carried out by men but it is God who is judging Israel at this present time. God is allowing these hard times upon Israel to bring her to repentance. The land belongs to God as one poster said earlier. God made covenant with Abraham over His land and when Israel repents she will possess the land that God covenanted to her. I repeat, the land is God's covenanted land to a repentant Israel. Jews and Arabs are occupying and fighting over God's land at this time - but the time will come when Jesus Christ will come to a repentant remnant out of Israel and establish the remnant on the land God covenanted to them. It is the prophetic program written by God and it will come to pass as He has decalered it to be.

This is a great gallery because it clearly illustrates that a nation that has the will can protect its sovereignty. The US must develop the will to protect its sovereignty and borders by building a wall like this on the Mexican border to keep illegals out. Americans, demand that your government build this wall now. Go to the Mexican consulates and embassy offices to protest. Tell them "Mexico go home now!!!!. We don't want your illegals.!!! Stop breaking our laws!!! Take care of your own people. " The Mexican government and the few greedy people that control the country are stealing from their own people even though the North American Free Trade Agreement brought industry and jobs to Mexico. The government and greedy Mexican plutocrats should be deposed and a more democratic government should be set up. This would allow for more economic freedom. Really a great gallery. I think all or most of you are missing the reality. This land (Israel)does not belong to Israel nor does it belong to the Palestinians or the Arabs. The land belongs to God (Yahwah, God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob)and was given to Abraham, Issac and Jacob and their descendents for ever. God has brought the Jews back to their land as He said He would over 2500 years ago and they will not be thrown out, "though all the nations be gathered together against it (Zech 12:3)." Also it should be remembered that the land was given to Israel in 1948, May and annexed by Jordan when they and the other Arab nations attacked Israel and took the land. Then in 1967 after being attacked again the regained the land (originally given to them)and continue to hold it today and will forever. So the Arabs (Palestinians) need to get over it and absorb their brothers into their lands and use some of that oil money they are hording to help them assimilate into the arab culture. Rick

The biggest help the fence does is renewed employment in Israel. Before the intifada many worked in Israel. After the terror wave Israel just tried to prevent anyone from coming in. Now, with the wall Israel has re-issued entry permits and more Palestinians have returned to work in Israel.

First let me say thank you for the powerful pictures. I am sorry though to see so many irrate and insensitve pro-israelis, and ignorant and at times anti-semetic pro-palestinians. You should both do some more thinking and research. Yes, the root of the fence is wrong and the symbolic reasons behind its construction are sad and should be the focus of work, not the fence. But it is necessary at this point until there is some form of reconciliation and an end of suicide bombers. Yes it is effective at stopping terror but it is wreaking havoc on the lifes and livelyhood of Palestinians. the debate I see here symbolizes the one going on outside, with niether side attempting to truly understand the others point of view and formulating arguments that seek to this understanding are attempt to create reconciliation. Its a long shot, but do you want to be on the sidelines saying "I told you so" when everything goes to hell. Not me.

I've seen the horror of what Palestine is becoming because of Israel, its hard to give your opinion if you havent been there yourself. Israeli's themselves don't know the truth of what is happening in checkpoints and on the otherside of their country. Human rights are violated daily and nothing is done. Suicide terrorists are called terrorists but why isn't sharon's policy also referred to as terrorist????? I believe it is State terorism which is even worse since Israel is a democracy. I hope a solution is found soon because the suffering in Palestine is too much.

Well, now that we have heard from both extremes, how about some common sense. Yes, the fence is going to cause economic hardship as the two countries are forced to develop seperate economies, and yes many Palestinians are going to suffer during this phase of transformation, but in the long run, its going to prove beneficial for both sides. If a true two-state solution is to hapopen, then they each need to have an independent economy anyway. The simple truth is that if Yasser Arafat would stop his terrorist activities, the barrier wouldn't be necessary. The argument that "what if the roles were reversed" doesn't hold water, because there is no epidemic of Israeli suicide bombers trying to get into Palestine. The grim reality is that as long as the Israelis and Palestinians continue to kill each other, the peace process will get nowhere. By building the separation barrier, Israel is forcing the two sides to stop fighting by effectively removing any possibility for a fight to continue. This is the international equivalent of a teacher making the two kids caught fighting on school grounds spend their detention in different rooms. If the violence can be stopped, perhaps a real agreement can be reached, and then the barrier can be torn down.

Great pictures. I think that the emphasis on the olive picking is valuable because it shows how the wall is not being built around the original boundary of Palestine before 1967. Instead, the wall is closing Palestinians off without the fertile land that it once had. If the wall is entirely about safety, why is this land being blocked off? The wall does make it more difficult for Palestinians to prosper and essentially eliminates any hope for the US road-map peace plan, or any other plan for that matter.

Let's see: pictures of farmers and school children being allowed in and out peacefully, cars that can be carrying explosives checked for proper ids, and those opposing the wall calling for mass extermination (how else do they expect to eliminate Israel?) in their graffiti! Your pictures show that this fence/wall is a great idea! As for the international protesters, why are they protesting a wall and not protesting against suicide bombers killing women and children? Hey buddy, we've got plenty of extra security at airports here in the USA, and it's a pain in the ass, but no one's complaining. September 11th wasn't so long ago that we forget what terrorists can do.

Powerful images for sure. I agree with Don that it might be good to show somes pics that explain WHY this wall is being built in the first place. Such an expensive undertaking! Must be a very good reason or no one would spend so much time and effort. Looks like an act of desperation to me. Too bad the Palestinians can't stop bombing innocent Israelis. Peace treaties were so close so many times, and the bombers destroyed peace hopes every single time. Such a pity. All those decent Palestinians are inconvenienced to the hilt by this monstrosity too...good folks who do not support bombing Israel. I think you have more than enough pro palestine graffiti here. This gallery looks pretty pro-palestinian to me. How about including some propoganda or shots of matrydom posters, fake funeral celebrations, the youth of the bombers. No mention of Hamas or Hezbulah or the El-Oxa's. Or the other terriost groups and to me this does not portray the total death and devestation and lack of human self control and conscience that the Palestinians portray. Or why the wall was built in the first place. This seems to be some sort of tribute to Yasser's cause in a way.
