Wow! Seems there are LOTS of folks who appreciate your art as much as I do! Sometimes I think I wish I had a great camera like yours but then I realize that without your "eye" for the picture, it wouldn't work. It's not the camera; it's the heart. I especially love my copy of your photo of Merit Creek. I'm sure your memories of it are as special as mine. Did you get to take precious Seth there? Hope he's doing well. He's a great little guy.

Thanks for looking. Camera was being hauled about in the saddle bag for 7,000 miles before this pic so no telling what was dirty. Will check the camera out. Using the K-7 now for the most part.

Hi Russell,

It was so nice to meet you last Saturday at the Farmers Market. I'm thrilled with the photo I bought (digital art - san diego trolly). I framed it this week, as you suggested, in simple black and it just looks *amazing*.

It's obvious that your daughter shares your passion for photography. Her photos posted on this site are breathtaking! I believe you said she took the Sea Otter, Alaska pic I bought for my dad? Can't wait for Father's day - he's gonna love it!

Happy trails,
Lisa Hudgens

Hello Russell,
I was very happy to find your photos of Nitta Yuma and Vickland Plantation through Google. My grandfather and grandmother, Estil and Ruby Kimbrell, lived on Vickland where my grandfather was the manager of the plantation in the 1960s. They lived on Deer Creek by the bridge, just down the dirt road from the church you photographed and just across the creek from Mr. Murphy Jones' big house. I spent every summer and holiday I could with them and remember hunting doves, quail and rabbits in the fields by that church. My other grandparents, Fred and Sarah Jabour, lived in Rolling Fork where they owned the Blue and Gold Food Store, just around the corner from the hospital. When I wasn't at Vickland, I was working in my grandfather's store in Rolling Fork and enjoying all the nice people there. Your photo of the giant red barn at Rolling Fork is beautiful and captures the majesty of that grand landmark that told us we were finally at "NaNaw"s and PaPaw's house."
Thank you for capturing these wonderful memories in photos. They help keep our memories vivid.

Hello, Russell. Nice photos you have here. As for my personal photography interest, I prefer black/white. Have done casual childrens photos, like texture close-ups that lean toward abstract, like specific sections/features of old buildings, and highly favor what I call character studies (candid busts of people). Have not done much for several years but Springtime is prompting me now, plus a new digital camera I'll be comparing to my 35mm.

Russell,
Thanks for the note you sent. I am sorry to hear about Debbie. I hope all is well with you. So do you do much/any fishing or hunting anymore. I still remember coon hunting with you when I was out in MS over 20 years ago.

I enjoyed your photos as I really love photography myself. I just don't find much time for it anymore. I do have some great photos of a backpack trip I took with my brother Steve this past August. We are hoping to do another trip this Summer.

Well take care for now and I hope to hear back form you sometime.

Mr. Christie, a good friend(Connie Ray), just introduced me to your website. Your photos are absolutely beautiful. You certainly have a special talent for capturing all that beauty. By the way, are the Bison yours??? If so, what fun! Really enjoyed all of your photos. Thanks for sharing them; it's very relaxing.

Russell, I enjoyed our visit at Art Supply earlier this week. Thanks for sharing the info about your site with me. I've really enjoyed looking at all the nice work you've done. The architectural shots provide great documentation of the Copiah county area. I'm sure it will prove to be a valuable asset to future historians. Keep up the good work.

You have beautiful pictures here. There is a picture of my grandmother's house in Crystal Springs. (Old southern homes #630) We were just down there about 3 weeks ago. Can you send me some pictures of any hurricane damage to her house. My great aunt lives over on Beverly Circle as well. If you would like to contact me, please email. Thank you so very much.

Beautiful photo's. Thanks for posting. I live out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is bird season now. I have been visiting the lakes looking for egret, herons and even saw a pelican. It had to be lost.
