Population: Well this is quite a conundrum. The Handbook of Texas Online lists Goforth as a ghost town with only a cemetery marked on maps in Hays County.

Needless to say I don't believe this water tower was built to serve the residents of the cemetery. There are quite a few new housing developments being built in the area and I assume that the labeling of this water tower was to honor the memory of this former municipality.
