1954 Packard Convertible. Last year for the in-line straight eight Packard engine. Beginning of Packard merger with Studebaker. Lack of modern overhead valve V-8 was yet another reason for Packard's decline, as was the third consecutive carryover of the basic design introduced in 1951. Little money for re-tooling forced Packard to continue "face-lifting" a dated design.
