I think the standard engine was a 223 ci v8 and the 64 ford fairlane i once owned had a 260 v8 in it that was white with a red int. didn't ride as nice. the big window in the back of the mercury did go up and down. mine use to come off the tracks all the time and get stuck halfway

I had a 64 mercury monterey. it had the maurauder engine in it (390) it was powder blue with a light gray int. the car was a beast. road like a lincoln and ate gas like one to.
when gas was 65 cents a gallon ( 1974)

My mom had a car just like this one. It went through transmissions and gas tanks (bottomed on curbs) but she loved it. I can remember being a little kid and sneaking out through the rear window at a drive-in movie--I'm sure our parents knew that my sister and I were at the playground next to the parking lot.
