Thanks for your reply. The answer to your question is that this is not an orchid but a n exotic member of the Bird of Paradise family. Although I love orchids and love photographing them I am by far no expert. Sorry I do not know enough to even guess at the names of the orchids here.

I loved your gallery that I learned of from your native orchid post. I only wish that you had named the orchids such as the one in this picture. What is it?
