Hello Ken,
I was just "macing around" with my new computer at home. In the past, I have just been able to use my computer at my office. I just googled 47 chevrolet suburban woodie, and boom, this interchange showed up. I just thought of an important piece of news as our talking to each other was waaay back in 2004. My woodie was the "cover girl" in the June of 2007 issue of THE WOODIE TIMES.
I hope I can get this to you as I am not sure I remember what I used to enter your site. I will try to send this to you now. I do have some favorite shots of my "burb" if you wanted some.
YIKES!! I just realized I had the message about telling the woodie suburbans as Campbell or Cantrell just reversed!! It is the CAMPBELL with 3 hinges and CANTRELL with just 2 hinges. The other bigger indication as to Campbell or Cantrell is shown with the rear doors. I was parked next to a Cantrell at a WOODIES ON THE WHARF meet in about 2006 0r so and discovered the difference. The front door of the Cantrells is about 3 to 4 inches wider than my Campbell, so it pushes the rear door backwards which produces a cut out on the back edge of the rear door. You will notice the 52 in your gallery has the rear side of the wheel well is cut out to allow for the rear wheels.Man, I can't believe I had that wrong! Please drop me a line and catch me up with your photography productions.
Thank you,
Don

Oh, one more thing. Obviously as you say this is not a pickup. However I think it would qualify as a woodie. Don, is your 1947 4 door Suburban with body by Campbell have wooden sides? Last year at the Anaheiom Car Show I saw a 1936 Suburban in A-1 condition. It did not have wooden sides but it was awesome just the same. Pretty sure I have a photo or two in the Anaheim car show album.

Don

Thank you for the correction and the spelling error correction. Yes it was a simple typo I missed and I corrected it.
Don, if you wish for people to e-mail you perhaps it would be a good idea to include an e-mail address that people can use to contact you. Have a nice day and thanks again for correcting my errors.

This is clearly not a Chevy piuckup (sic) woodie!!!!!!It looks to me like a 1952 Suburban with body by Cantrell. Cantrell bodies have 3 hinges like subject, while Campbell doors have only 2 hinges. I have a 1947 4 door Suburban with body by Campbell. I Would like to know others with either body, as I think they are quite rare. Please email me. Thanks, Don
