My dad had a car like this. We have pictures of family (including me as a little girl) sitting in the car. My dads papers read Ford meteor crown Victoria. It was tri coloured white black and blue, 2 door hard top with thunderbird engine. My brother was very upset when my dad traded in his car. Lot of fond memories. Always wanted to see if I could find one at a reasonable price. My mom is living with me and it would have been a kick to give her a ride in a car like dad's. (it was her favourite car.

Hello everyone,
This car is definitely a Meteor Rideau. It is not a Mercury, but was sold in Canada as a lower priced entry model by the Lincoln-Mercury dealers to compete with the Ford line. Model for model, the Meteor was a bit more expensive compared to the Ford, however, the Meteor usually had a fancier interior. In addition, the Lincoln-Mercury dealers in Canada also sold a truck line called Mercury. They were Fords with a different badge and grill and the pickup tailgate said Mercury.

Not a Canadian Ford. I have owned 1 since 1Jan. 1966. It is technically a Mercury Meteor only sold in Canada by Mercury dealerships. We were lucky in this country as we could also buy the cheaper Ford model sold by Ford dealers. Therefore it is NOT a Canadian Ford. It is a Canadian Mercury or more commonly called a Meteor!

Louis father managed a lincoln mercury meteor dealership in Vancouver,BC
Meteor was a lincoln mercury version of their Ford counterparts however
the meteor had more chrome and were more luxurios than the ford models.

56 Meteor Rideau 2 dr hdtp was our honeymoon car ours was solid white with red insert. It was what I would consider a basic car radio, auto, mirrors, 292. Yes the 292 leaked oil out the rear man from the day it was built till the end of it,s life, after several oil seals we just gave up. Other than that it was a good car. Cruised all day long 70 to 75 mph, although I very quickly learned do not run up against a Chevy with 4bbl and duals, I think it was called the Power Pak option. About 1968 I gave the car away to 2 buds that were racing stock cars, I think I stll have all the side stainless tucked away in my garage.

While this is a Ford product for Canada, it would be more correct to refer to it as a Meteor Rideau (make and model).
