Love the untraditional tilt It works very well in this photo! The model's long arm is a bit distracting as well as the person on the lower right corner. The witch has such a great face she almost makes you forget her green-eyed friend. Both are the strong points of this photo so crop without fear! What you don't show can help with the impact of the image as much as what you do.

Xin, if you begin to work on transformations such as this as a self-change project, you will become far more sensitive to the potential meaning in such images as this. Good luck. Phil

Yes, Phil. It is made at Halloween Party in NYC. Luckily this lady posed for me. It is indeed spectacular costume and surreal make-up. However, again, I didn't recognize its strength and power until you describe it to me. I have to admit that my eyes are far less sensitive than yours. Hope I could have my eyes trained as acumen as possible.

This is among the strongest portraits you have ever made, Xin. I don't now who the model is but the image is of two persons, one real and one imagined. The painted face is shocking -- a mask of decadence. The costume is also unreal, that of a specter -- a ghost almost. It reminds me almost of the skeletal ladies I photographed on the Day of the Dead in Mexico (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/52099803 ) (http://www.pbase.com/image/57011059 ) and (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/52099799 ) It looks like you must have made this at a Halloween party.
It is a fusion of two artists -- the person who created the shocking makeup and costume, and your own artistry at creating this image, a series of incongruities built around a diagonal structure: beauty gone sour, dark and light, simplicity and ornament.
