Hirado Jangara Matsuri 平戸ジャンガラ祭

A traditional dance festival taking place annually in mid-August, the Jangara Matsuri is held as a prayer offering in hopes of a good harvest. Perhaps reflecting the Hirado-shima's far westerly position compared to the rest of the country, the festival shows a distinct Korean influence, with brightly colored clothing and a sharp, rhythmic feel to the music and dancing.
