Thanks. My educated guess is that the larger seal was a male and the two smaller ones females.

I have no clue what or why they are. Totally ignorant, sorry!
The black one was a lot heavier and larger than the others and was always the first
to stay on the rock. The others got swept away by every other large wave.

1000mm? The exif data is not quiet correct here. That was stacked 1.4x2.0x500 = 1400 or
2240mm in 35mm format. Manual focus, stepped down (from the wide open F11 to F14),
IS on (for the wind) and a remote release. More than 50% of the shots came out useful
(from a technical standpoint).

Great pose, looks like they are warming themselves in the sun. Is this two pups with mom, or two females with a male, or none of the above! How did you manage 1000mm?
