As a child growing up, this week was only second to Christmas as my favorite week. Because this week is when the Wood Festival was held, and the carnival was in town. Although we didn't have a lot of money, Mom and Dad would see that we got to go on some rides and get a hot dog and cotton candy. It is still a great time for children, and a chance to see some of your old cronies that used to ride those rides with you.
